Quiet Time

Sometimes we unintentionally impose on someone’s private time, not even realizing it. When I travel and take photographs, I tend to forget that everything is not a tourist attraction or a photography subject. There are places where people come for different reasons, to have a quiet moment, to contemplate in solitude.

When I took this image, all I wanted is to capture the soft glow of candles. Only when I came home did I realize it is not the only thing I captured.

  1. Oh this is a special image! The soft glow is beautiful, like wishes and dreams floating beyond their beginning. Love this. And, I would say the women is hidden well and adds a loveliness to the image.

Just as you said, you have captured so much more then just a soft glow of candle. This picture speaks to me with love, peace and sorrow. Maybe your best ever, I LIKE 🙂

  3. Beautiful image, the glow of the candles is perfect and the woman in the background adds story to the picture, she gives the candles more of a sense of meaning, a purpose. 🙂

  4. great black and white image. my canon 5d mark II is so noisy! but it easy to get absorbed by the frame of the camera and forget the world around us. On the otherside you have an image that tells a story of a warm human moment.
