Instagram in October

Another fruitful month on my Instagram, October offered plenty of interesting subjects for my camera. Macro world proved to be full of surprises, one just needs to remember to look down.

For some, spring and summer offer the most interesting colors with all the flowers, for me it is the autumn. From pale pink to fiery red and yellow, from misty softness to gentle sunrays, I simply adore all the colors.

Vilma made a rare appearance, she is even more difficult to capture than Berta. But I managed to trick her. As for Berta, business as usual…a vanishing act in the morning mist.

This month marks a full year of my Instagram project and I am still enjoying it so much. It is funny how I still find interesting and challenging capturing same images over and over again.

Instagram…I’ve Been Good

Since I basically failed my Instagram July, this month I put some more effort and here are the results.

The summer is slowly burning out and I am back to enjoying my mellow morning walks with much gentler sun…it shows in the colors. I got to spend some nice time down by the river, every weekend felt almost like a vacation. And after two years I finally managed to capture that heron…she (it must be she) has been avoiding me for so long, flying away just as I would set my camera. But no more! 🙂

Macro world offers some more surprises with flowers and plants that are not familiar to me. I especially like those little green bells, cute as a button. It is embarrassing how little I know about flora…plants and trees are a mystery to me.

And finally, Berta in a million different poses…she was very disappointed those ducks in last image got away from her. She surprised me this summer, not one dip in the river…probably saving her energy for our vacation on the Adriatic coast.

I think I did good in August…and with autumn approaching, I hope to get more interesting images from my morning walks. It will be fun comparing them to last years autumn images. I wonder if the colors will be the same…

My February Instagram

I am a little bit late this month with posting my Instagram images from February. The flu left me exhausted and somewhat in a bad mood. The weather is not helping, either. Rainy, cloudy days are following one after another, keeping spring just out of the reach.
Hopefully, sun will find its way through the clouds, making my morning walks beautiful again. For now, here are my February images.

I am still surprised how it all looks bright and colorful on my phone, but here everything is soft and mellow. It gives me a sense of novelty, like a new version of already published images. I managed to capture few precious moments of Berta and Vilma, they always make me smile.

Going through these galleries, it seems I managed to get quite a few sunny mornings in February. Strange, because if someone asked me how was the weather, I would say the entire month was just awful. Goes to show how we tend to linger on bad things, forgetting to enjoy all the wonderful moments.

With days getting longer, I hope to extend my afternoon walks and get a different set of images of those familiar places. With sunsets and bolder colors, different angles, I can’t wait to see what I’ll get.

The “Hendrix” railway bridge is still one of my favorite subjects, I like how all those straight lines and steel make a contrast to soft morning light, abstractness of river and surrounding nature.

I posted only two images so far this month, but I hope to catch up with my regular schedule. Who knew a little bit of flu and fever could leave you so exhausted and spent….If you want to follow my daily antics, you can find me on Instagram if you look for snowlocked. I would love to follow you there, too.
