Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

The soft afternoon light follows the shadows waltzing across the wall, like a lover following the one who offers only a heartbreak. Curtains part before a breeze that carries the fragrance of spring flowers and something long forgotten. The music sneaks around the old furniture, whimsically scattered across the room. Two entangled bodies reflect in the large mirror at the foot of the bed, offering a splendid portrait of wasted chances. A long-case clock in the corner mocks the thieves, as the stolen time slips away.
I love the description in this – particularly ‘Curtains part before a breeze that carries the fragrance of spring flowers and something long forgotten.’
This incredible piece grabbed me by the heart and made me teary, especially when I listened to the music. I couldn’t understand most of the words, yet it conjured such emotion. I stopped off for a cup of tea with a thousand things running round inside my head and this was such a treat!! Thank you!

That was so poetic. You took me there and immersed me in the scene and I didn’t want to leave. 🙂

When one gets the chance to enjoy such wonder, tomorrow is a nice thought… but today is pure magic. Really love this.

This promoted lovely images of times past. I wondered did you envisage a older couple, the use of a long case clock led me to think that you may have.

I was not focused on their age, I envisioned lovers who will eventually go back to their families.
