Farewell

His breath white like clouds that cradle Wudang Mountain, Wang Shao watched yellow leaves dance across the courtyard.

“Tell me the story again, Yu Xin.” he whispered to his memory.

Thousand leagues away, covered under the blanket of his autumn, Yu Xin whispered to the wind.

“There was a man who betrayed his love, so he could climb a stairway to the sky.  But there were masters he failed to see…behind the rock in the dark a tiger was hidden, and the coiling giant root was a forgotten crouching dragon…and they asked him: What is a day without a night?”

Strange path led me to this story, from cello, to Yo Yo Ma, to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and finally to…  Inspiration
