Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

His breath white like clouds that cradle Wudang Mountain, Wang Shao watched yellow leaves dance across the courtyard.
“Tell me the story again, Yu Xin.” he whispered to his memory.
Thousand leagues away, covered under the blanket of his autumn, Yu Xin whispered to the wind.
“There was a man who betrayed his love, so he could climb a stairway to the sky. But there were masters he failed to see…behind the rock in the dark a tiger was hidden, and the coiling giant root was a forgotten crouching dragon…and they asked him: What is a day without a night?”
Strange path led me to this story, from cello, to Yo Yo Ma, to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and finally to… Inspiration
Can only echo the comments already made – love the originality of where you took the prompt and your beautiful descriptive piece really felt quite ethereal yet powerful. Nice one!
Mysterious and evocative. I liked the description of his breath

I do love this.. the inspiration to Yo-Yo Ma is excellent. I have once listened to Tan Dun conducting some other music, he is a wonderful composer.

This was a lateral take on the photo but very poignant. It definitely evoked strong pictures in my head.

Got goosebumps on that one, the feeling of a story about to be told and about to knock us between the eyes. Well done, Loré.
