Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

Westmoreland 1352
Although it might be unjust, your husband beating you is nevertheless a natural order of things. However,by killing your husband, you committed a treasonous act. For this crime your punishment will be death by drowning.
Nantes 1794
Who is laughing now, you filthy royalist sympathizer? This is the dawn of the Revolution and your time is up. Throw this aristocrat whore off the boat and let her drown.
Mosul 2015
You are guilty of criminal act of adultery and tempting another man who is not your husband to lay with you. Put her in a cage and drown her.
Greetings!
Great use of the prompt, but of terrible tragedies and a sad reminder of how little changes over the years. I wonder if tightening a few of the sentences and adding some white space between lines would amp up the tension of each timeline?
I’m curious. Where does your imagination take her in 2376? Does she finally turn the tables?
Love the title! 🙂 TMWR
It just goes to show us that some people’s bodies are in the 21st Century but their minds are somewhere in the dark ages. Both men and women suffer because those who judge believe differently and think anyone who believes differently should be punished. God help anyone who’s judged and punished by them. Their minds are warped. Good writing, Lore. —- Suzanne
Dear Loré,
Centuries of women suffering injustices at the hands of men. Well done in few words.

The more things change, the more the fundamentalists stay the same. Well done.

Water may be too precious by 2376 to use it for drowning.

Great piece and a great job of highlighting this injustice from ancient times to today, when we should know better.

I hope we do better by the time 2376 comes…even though our past gives me no hope.

Indeed. All we can do is educate the next generation about history and the golden rule…and hope they can do it better than we did.

You could have gone on and on every 50 years if you had more words! We’ve come a long way but we have so much further to go.
