Motions of Living – Revisited

Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

Sweaty palms and trembling thighs
Where do I go from here
Wasted years and lost souls
Why did you leave, my dear

Stuck in this reciting moment
Trying to catch my breath
Struggling with familiar doubts
Longing for my old acquaintance, meth

Broken down at the side of the road
Surrounded by fearful hearts
Fleeting vainly from yesteryear
Motions combined in fits and starts

Slipping farther away
With the devil on my back
Throwing punches left and right
Not making a single crack

Glass boxes and golden cages
Prisoner of my own device
Neither here nor there
What is the ultimate price?
