Her footsteps, quiet as falling leaves, sounded like marching drums to his trained ears.
Reaching the end of the alley, she adjusted her robes and spoke in a soft and measured voice.
“Ezio Auditore…You are a hard man to find.”
Ezio jumped from the roof top, landing mere inches from her.
“And yet, here you are.”
Removing invisible specks of dust from her shoulder, she graced him with the smile that never reached her eyes.
“There is a library in Masyaf that holds the answer. Find the key.”
Watching Rowena’s retreating form, Ezio wondered if her touch would still burn him.
Oh this is wonderful, there is enough mystery to make me wonder, but I do feel that this is an adventure game just as you mention… there has to be a clue somewhere in Syria
Yes, I sense a great adventure ahead…My Rowena travels through space and time and through my stories, I wonder if they’ll meet again.
Glad you liked it.
You nailed this. You didn’t go overboard with the Assassin’s Creed references and you created enough narrative interest to appeal to readers with no prior knowledge of the franchise. Loved your title too.
I’m only slightly acquainted with Assassin’s Creed, but this story also stands well on its own. I love the adventurous search and the mysterious abilities of the characters. This is a very well written tale!
Ha! I watched my sons play Assassin’s Creed for years! Before i got to the video, I knew where your inspiration came from! Great tension and mood, here, Loré. Suspenseful and mysterious.
I know nothing about Assassin’s Creed, but I still liked this. The adventurousness nature of it.

Love it. Reminds me of that other story with the Thieve’s Guild.

I wouldn’t have guessed it was Assassin’s Creed but when you said that, it made total sense. 🙂 Nice piece.

It stands alone without knowing anything about Assasins Creed. Nice.

That is good to know, I hoped I would achieve that. Thank you.

I think Ezio needs to be careful around that one. For some reason I never got into the Assassin’s Creed series.

I’m not familiar with Assassin’s Creed either, but this sounds like a good spy thriller. Good writing, Lore. 🙂 — Suzanne
