My Instagram Friday

Today is the first Friday of the month and I decided to make it My Instagram Friday, showing you what I did on Instagram in a previous month.

I joined Instagram at the beginning of November, always last one to the party. At the start, I was clueless what to do. I knew I wanted to post fresh images, with as little editing as possible. I didn’t want to waste too much time processing my images on my PC and besides, isn’t that what Instagram is about – instant pictures.

Every morning I go for walks with my Berta.  I decided to take my phone with me and start taking pictures of anything I stumble upon. One would think it might get boring, since I usually walk the same route.

That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Once you capture all familiar places, you start looking for hidden treasures, things you walked by for hundreds of times without noticing. And then you come back to your familiar places, because the light is different or the clouds look so amazing.

My favorite subject so far is a railway bridge, with so many different shades of green, depending on a weather. It is a perfect example of how many interesting angles you can draw from a singe object. My second favorite subject is Berta, when I manage to capture her. Most of the time she is running…running wild. ❤

I always liked my morning walks, but now I feel something much more. Looking through the lens, sharing pieces of my life, capturing memories in an everyday sequence…that is such a beautiful way to start my day. I find Instagram very liberating, because I snap a picture and use only Instagram editing tools, before I post it. So, when you see my fresh image, know that I am right that minute walking with Berta, enjoying my quiet moments.

If you’d like to follow my journey on Instagram, look for Snowlocked. If you are on Instagram, leave your name in my comments section, I would like to know what you are up to.

My next Instagram Friday will be on January 8, if anyone wants to join in the fun, you can always send me a link to your post and I will feature it on my blog.
