Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

I dream of you, running through the meadow in your wedding dress.
“I don’t want to die.”
I caress your tear-stained cheek and whisper: “I am sorry.”
In my dream, you are young and beautiful…you are my favorite memory.
***
“Don’t call me aunt, call me Suzi.” you demanded vehemently and I would tease you. “Ok, aunty!”
The mist that covered our years of arguments and affection, dispersed with my acquired wisdom. My eyes are clear.
You held me in the palm of your hand, even when I didn’t know it.
I hate to be writing this but it really is an interesting “take on the prompt”. I had to read the piece twice before I could see where you were coming from. Moving stories here.
Dear Emilio, that is so kind of you to say. Sometimes it is scary to show yourself to the world, but after that first step the support and kindness is so much appreciated.
The story in itself is very beautiful, theme and words, but this being a true memory makes it extra special. You’ve been very lucky to have (had) such an aunt. I love it.
The love comes over strong and true.
Good piece.

Yes, it is a tribute to my aunt. Who would know your love would grow more and more, as the years pass by. Thank you so much, means a world to me.

Aye, it is a bit of a cliche, but if it’s true, it’s true, which it is…lol.

So, I made you read it twice? That must be a good sign. Thank you. I don’t mind that “interesting take on the prompt”. 😉
