Hello again! Another One Photo Focus is here and our WP feed will be swamped with so many versions of Katie Prior’s image of the Cobb.
As soon as I saw Katie’s image I was reminded of Persuasion, a movie version of Jane Austen’s book. There is a scene or two where the characters are taking a walk on the Cobb. I wonder if it is the same one, in Lyme Regis.
What to say about the editing process? Obvious things – flipping, removing those poor people (how positively cruel 😛 ) and tinkering with the hue. I settled on this color choice, because it was so different from the original.
After months of really lazy approach to editing, I returned to GIMP for this one. Go me… 🙂
As always, other crazy participants of OPF gathered around our hostess Stacy on her blog Visual Venturing.
I like the soft glow effect but the pink rocks really didn’t do it for me at all, maybe the pink and the teal sky were a bit much? Not sure but I think only two people did the mirror flip, its funny how that never occurs to me to do, I wonder why?
I saw rocks like that, I swear. Sky not so much, but I like to go crazy in OPF, mainly because you are all too serious. 😀 I have no idea why people don’t flip their images, my next thing is to flip them upside-down. Because – why not? 😀
You always make me smile, if not outright laugh, Loré 🙂 I say keep pushing the envelope – keeps us all on our toes! And always love seeing your signature flip. I don’t know why, but it works. And removing the people was definitely a smart choice (one I didn’t think to make). But I’ll remember to “see” more clearly the next time a similar situation crops up!
Oh, Lord, please don’t let it be a bug – sooo not my thing at all. Stems from a biology project in 8th grade where I had to collect, identify, and mount on pins in a display 40 different kinds of insects. Still gives me nightmares!!
I find that very cruel in your schools, dissecting frogs or torturing poor bugs. Our biology projects involved cleaning around the school, planting trees, going on the field trips around our home town. If Ben sends a bug image our way, I bet there will not be many happy faces. Except me!!! 😛
Great processing Loré! I like these colours, very different, the red is great and nicely contrasts with the turquoise sky. Good to see the trademark flip back again, I look forward to seeing the next 1PF as an upside down flip! And yes, this is the same Cobb from Jane Austen’s Persuasion, just fancy, those Regency girls jumping down off the wall, its just asking for trouble! 🙂
You did good! I’d noticed that you flipped this when I looked at Stacy’s post. I’m not sure it makes this particular picture better or not, but I do want to remember that for one of the future ABFriday’s. After seeing that you did remove the people, I’m still not sure if I should have or not. Both look good.
However, like Dr. Who, are you sure those people really existed? Maybe they weren’t a figment of your imagination? It’s not cruel if they aren’t really there 🙂
Finally someone who is laughing at my jokes! I might take you hostage. 😀
I don’t know why I flipped it this time, somehow I am more drawn to the horizon in this version. As for the people, without them it looks more like a piece of fantasy land, with those crazy colors. Anyway, happy you liked it, thank you!
What an awesome difference. I love it.

Thank you, Stacy! You know me, all in. 🙂 I wonder what Ben has in store for us, if it is some kind of a bug, I can finally do the upside-down flip. 😛
