When asked point-blank, people couldn’t really say what was wrong with her.
“She is different.”
Heart…
When questioned what was so different, they offered a well-practiced reply.
“She doesn’t fit in.”
Break…
When quizzed why she was always alone, most would just look away.
“She is not one of us.”
Multiplied…
When she disappeared, no one noticed.
“She always kept to herself, strange little bird.”
By…
When her body was found, people were truly shocked by her violent end.
“Why would she do that? She was one of us.”
Infinity…
When asked about her name…
…the silence was deafening.

Enjoyed the idea. Didn’t really pay much attention to the words on the right, until the last line. However, I didn’t feel it lessened the impact you were aiming for.

Making someone invisible by simply not caring is worse than disliking someone. Those, at least, we see. This was beautiful in its presentation and heart-breaking in its content.
