After last week’s soft and magical edit, I needed something completely different. I cropped it differently, flipped it, removed the color, replaced softness with this worn out, bleak look. It has a vintage look, like an old photo from your grandfathers photo album. It is funny how the gates look like a crochet my grandma used to make, they stand out against the washed out background.
Most of the work was done in PicMonkey, the usual stuff – straightening the image, cropping, adjusting exposure and turning it into a black&white image. But the final touch of vintage was done through FotoSketcher, by turning it into a vintage photo and then merging it with the original.
I have no idea where to go from here and I know this week will fly by in a blink of an eye. I just hope my wheels of imagination start turning on time.

Hi Loré; you know I hadn’t realised there was another set of interesting rod iron work behind the entrance gate! So cropping and treatment reveals it so much more! I like that layering effect.

I like the vintage look and the depth and clarity between the gate and the bg. I think I missed your week 2 but I like the magical fantasy look of that one too.

You’re right, it does remind me of crochet. It is a beautiful gate and I love the edits you made on it.

Really nice effect with the color and the sharp contrast on the wrought iron. So classic. But the blue light rays from last week are still my favorite. Looking forward to next week’s version.

A slightly vintage effect, brings an old time feel, no longer a disco, now more of a Soiree is happening behind the gates.

It is always amazing how cropping a pic can bring out so much detail that was originally overlooked the first time viewing the photo. I like the vintage look. Last week’s edit was beautiful too!

Nice treatment, like the softer older tones to the walls and that front gate has so much more presence in this variation.

I really like this edit. 🙂 The monochrome and vintage look gives the scene a really old and disused feel. Well done.

My favorite it still week 2, but I tend to like fairy dust…. anyway, I do like this week’s edit, it really brings the gate forward and it has an old-world feeling to it, nice job. 😀

Thank you, I knew it would be impossible to top Week 2, so I went in opposite direction.

This is another wonderful edition of your gates Lore!
I too am surprised at how this treatment seems to bring the gates forward, revealing the ironwork behind them. Just fabulous!!
