Funny things, these humans turned out to be. So curious and resourceful, yet inexplicably chained to this planet. In all my travels I never encountered stranger creatures, capable of so much kindness and cruelty in a single breath.
The little one picked me up from the rock with the utmost care and showed me to the big one: “Dad, look what I found. Can I put the pin in it? It will look great in my collection.”
They should count their blessings they can’t hear my screams.
Great Llilliputian/Gullivers Travels type of perspective.
I like it. Randy

” capable of so much kindness and cruelty in a single breath” that does describe us earthlings rather well.

I suspect aliens are avoiding us for centuries. There’s probably some warning sign on the intergalactic highway. Thank you Dawn!

It reminds me a bit of a couple of characters in a sad novel about humans not knowing sentience when they see it to tragic result. The book is “The Sparrow” by Mary Doria Russell. This is the human race to a tee.

Thank you. I’ll need to check that novel.

I love your character. He’s obviously much more beautiful on the inside than his is on the outside. I hope he escapes somehow. Thanks for the video. Cute.

Dear Loré,
Quite reminiscent of some of my favorite Twilight Zones. Entertaining and well written.

Dear Lore,
We humans learn to count our blessing mostly very late in life, if ever. Now that there are a million satellites orbiting the earth, I’m sure one or two of them are from another civilization, and are broadcasting the sitcom and warning that is us to all of the Universes citizens. Which is why we get few visitors nowadays.
Excellent story.
Aloha,
Doug

Doug,
I said the same many times. Just doubt it’s the sitcom, maybe we are featured in some silly videos on some GalaxTube where teenage aliens hang around and LOL, ROLF and whatever. 😀
Thank you.

I’m sure that is the reception we would give those poor aliens.

I don’t doubt it. Maybe we would first take a selfie? My message to them would be: Fly, you fools!

Ah I thought we were headed for a sweet, jokey little tale but a quick twist of the story-telling knife and it ends with screams. Poor guy. We should put up a huge sign in the North Pole, maybe, visible from space: “Travellers beware!”

Couldn’t agree more, we need to warn unexpected travellers. Thank you.

It is probably a bad sign that I become over emotional sympathizing with fictional space aliens.
