Discontinuity

Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wissof-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

Tired. So damn tired. Walking for days, weeks, months…has it been years already? Who is counting anymore? Who is left to count?
When we described the future without us, they wouldn’t listen. When we asked why, they wouldn’t look us in the eyes. They took our rights… Tortured us… Killed us. Now, there is no one else to tell them.
They will catch up eventually. How utterly amazing it will be to see the looks on their faces. The last one. Too old. No more babies.
I am the last Woman of the Earth. And I am ready.

  1. I really enjoyed your take. This type of story is one I like to play with often. When they come for you, who will defend you when everyone else has already been taken away? Very good.

    Thanks.

  2. A very topical story, considering the current global situation. This isn’t futuristic writing, it’s now. That’s what’s really scary about your story. Well done. I suppose. 😉
