My grandfather once told me: “You see my dear, there is a fire within us burning so brightly, it chases away the darkness.”
My curiosity couldn’t be contained: “But, grandpa, how can it burn so strong, yet I don’t feel the heat?”
He smiled at me: “That’s because we are made of flames. And fire can’t burn fire. It can only feed on it.”
With childish innocence I asked: “So, we are like fireflies? I like that.”
The strongest man I ever knew smiled the kindest smile I ever saw: “Darling, you are my favorite firefly. Just keep burning.”
