Irreversible

“As I sit here and watch people walking by, it seems to me some of us spend our lives riding on the never-ending roller coaster of anger and regret. Like ballroom dancers, we move in circles…over and over again.

If we could turn back the hands of time, would we make the same mistakes? Could we choose a different path? Or should we leave it all behind? Our lives and our choices, every turn we take, opens up a new direction, a new adventure waiting on the horizon. We are bound to each other, from our past to our future.”

This is an excerpt from my post from a few months back I Can’t Stay Mad at You (Cause in the End, I Love Myself More). My entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge reminded me of that post and of the importance of time.

This is the first photo I took specifically for the Monochrome Madness Challenge. In the past, I would choose one of the photos I took over the years and try to turn it into a monochrome image. So, this is a big step up for me, cause I was searching for a thing to shoot that would fit into this challenge.

Funny thing is, my place is surrounded by trees. Huge trees full of leaves. Which means I get almost no direct sunlight. To be exact, I get one ray of sun on my bed every morning at 8:20. On a sunny day. And it stays there for 15 minutes. So, it was quite a challenge to find a subject and to get a decent shot. Luckily, my collection of necklaces was nearby, so I picked up this watch/necklace and trew it on a bed. Took a dozen of images and in the end picked this one. I like the shadows and the light that hits the watch. I would never guess this image was taken at 8:30 AM. Funny how things turn out.

Please, join us at the Leanne Cole PHOTOGRAPHY where you can find many other amazing images. If you want to participate, check the bottom of her post for the instructions. I would like to recommend her blog to any aspiring amateur photographer, you’ll find many helpful posts and tutorials, but above all she is very open and friendly person.
