Of Falling Skies and Magic Dragons

Time for another entry in Friday Fictioneers challenge, courtesy of Rochelle Wissof-Fields. If you want to give it a try, check the info on her blog. 100 words more or less, inspired by a photo, here we go….

It’s been 3 months since we received a distress call from Gharadius Prime. Our 5-person mission has been  studying a strange anomaly, a 21st century village that mysteriously appeared complete with its residents, animals and buildings. It seems no one knows what exactly happened, they just fell from the sky. I find it very disturbing how calm and unfazed all these illegal immigrants look. When asked what happened, one shabby looking elder said: “One minute we were rolling some papers and then puff! The magic dragon brought us here!”
And now we have to locate that dragon.

  1. It’s amazing what can be accomplished with strings and sealing wax if you know what you’re doing 😉
Fun take on the prompt, I especially love the idea of the authorities searching for Puff

  2. Loved your story! Puff the Magic Dragon took me by surprise, and I love the humorous last line.
(It occurred to me that in my story, where the whole planet gets sucked up by a beam of light, and all that stuff, there could be another dimension, where they’d end up in your story on Gharadias Prime! 🙂 That would be fun!)

  3. I think most stories can be improved by the addition of a magic dragon, as a rule. Good call. Although I must admit that song did make me cry when I was little 🙂
