Heavy Load

John Singer Sargent – Nonchaloir (Repose) 1911.

If I wanted to love you
I wouldn’t walk away
If I wanted to hurt you
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay

Two steps back is all that it takes
In a heartbeat I can turn
A fragile heart easily breaks
Damaged soul will slowly burn

I know I need to get away
My troubled mind needs an open road
Even when you beg me to stay
I should leave and take this heavy load

Soon the skies will turn blue
And you will welcome the sun
Everything I told you will turn out true
Life lessons will be done
